It started a few years ago when I overpowered Mark Olsen with a drywall patch. He commited to
recording and playing on some songs I had written.
We opened a can of worms and liked it! We had enough worms to bait his brother Mic
in too. We started recording and each song become more fun than the
last (you'll see).
We'll go back to the "Bros O" later.
Right now the Marks Sisters, Nina and Laura.
Laura Marks aka Polly Graph and Kim Combs aka Sophia Pentathal "The Lie Detectors " my good friends
played a lot of open mics with me. We had a blast! These ladies
could have re-vocationalised the Pope.
Back to recording.
At the time of recording Lunch Money, Kim was on solo tour in Europe and we wanted female vocal harmonies.
Enter Nina Marks, Lauras sister. The harmonial warmth tells you family! Not a bad thing. Apart from the shared vocals each has a great, unique and natural lead
vocal delivery.
The other voice you hear on Lunch Money (besides mine) is M.W...........Zeke call home!
Lunch Money was a good thing, but....I !was a kid cut loose in a candy store! I needed
more! It doesn't get any better than working with Mark & Mic. Their
musicianship and production is unparalled. (I don't get out much!)
The nicest guys you'ld ever wanna be around but I had to overpower
both of them for a second cd. Some paparazzi caught me putting the
squeeze on them.pic I had help. The Bros O' said they would record
another cd if we did a music video from the first.
Bingo, enter Nara, my friend, probably everybodys! We'd talked of making a music
video earlier, Nara and I. It just went great! It went so good on
the first video we did another without going over budget! The
Message, Dyin' World, and we still had enough money for burritos!
Nara is awesome! Go Snapdragon Video!
Videos in the bag, it was 2nd cd
thirty. We started recording " Waiting for the good ol' days ".
Like the first, it was falling into place just fine. I lined up
some new singers to sing the songs that they ( the bros O ) didn't
make me sing! The Marks Sisters were pursueing other projects.
Again I was arm twisting ( because the goodest is betterer ). Derek
Kidd, a good friend of mine and occasional kickass jam partner at a
local watering hole, inspite of contractual obligations connected
to his own career and agents, sings three songs on this one.
Due to sloppy bookkeeping, excessive cost over runs and a missing burrito,
we were only able to afford for one song to be sung by Todd Tone.
It was worth it!!!!!!!!!!!! Toddamnitall!
With three songs left to be sung and no Marks Sisters or Lie Detectors to do it, the Bros O
took over and nailed it!
Thank you Mark and Mic Olsen! Thank-you
Dean and Donna down at Inside-Out Studios for allowing the Bros O
to share their talents with this project. We owe you a burrito!
